Board of County Commissioners
Adopt Proclamation designating November 11-19, 2017, as "Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week" in Manatee County, Florida.
The National Coalition for the Homeless and the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness have sponsored National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week for more than 25 years.
The purpose of this proclamation is to educate the public about the many reasons people are hungry and homeless, including the shortage of affordable housing - especially for low-income residents; to encourage support for homeless assistance service providers; and to highlight community service opportunities for volunteers.
