Reaffirmation of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Policy Statement

Action Requested
Motion to adopt Resolution R-17-146 and authorize the Chairperson and the County Administrator to execute the Equal Employment Opportunity Policy Statement.

Enabling/Regulating Authority
State and Federal grant requirements call for periodic reaffirmation of EEO/AA Policies.

Background Discussion

The EEO Policy Statement is a required component of the Affirmative Action Plan, a copy of which is on file in the County Commission's reference area and is also available on the County's website.  However, no revision to the Plan itself is being proposed at this time.

This action is renewal of the County's commitment to equal employment opportunity in its role as employer.

This action also ensures compliance with various Federal and State Grant requirements.
