Manatee County Land Development Code Section 911, Public Hearing requirements for Vacation of Streets, Roads, and other Appropriate Property. 

Background Discussion

The applicants Thomas G. Shaurette, Karen A. Shaurette, Richard A. Shaurette, Sydney D. Shaurette, Mark Shaurette, Patricia Shaurette, and Donald J. Shaurette are requesting a vacation of a platted unimproved ten foot utility easement located at 5509 2nd Avenue Circle West in Palmetto, Florida 34221. Vacating the unused utility easement will improve the likelihood of a sale, construction of a comparable home, and improve the property value without negatively impacting the residents or utility services to the subdivision.

Jurisdictional review by appropriate county departments and private utilities serving the area have been notified and have no objection to the applicants request. The application complies with the Florida Statutes and the county's land development code. The $800.00 required filing fee has been paid by the applicants.  All other expenses associated with the vacation process will be paid by the applicants.
