Background Discussion
  • The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is planning to fund, design, and build intersection improvements at State Road 70 and 30th Street East using federal funds.
  • The project resolution is required by FDOT to notify the public of a planned intersection improvement project.
  • The intersection improvements include adding a lane to provide southbound dual left turns, one thru lane, and one right turn lane on the northern leg of this intersection.
  • The Right-of-Way that is required is owned by Wal-Mart Stores East, LP, a Delaware limited partnership.  The parcel that is needed is 3,206 square feet along 30th Street East also known as Parcel 100.
  • Wal-Mart has agreed to donate Parcel 100 to Manatee County so this project can move forward.  Manatee County will retain ownership of this Right-of-Way.
