Adoption of Resolution R-18-081 authorizing the Chairperson to execute the Supplemental Agreement for the Traveler Information Website Local Agency Program (LAP) with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Background Discussion
  • Public Works Department staff requested funding for the Traveler Information Website from the (FDOT) through the Sarasota Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) as part of the County's Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and in support of the Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC).
  • The scope of the project consists of implementing a comprehensive website for aggregation and dissemination of traveler information such as travel time, congestion, traffic incidents, and live video from CCTV cameras connected to the RTMC.
  • FDOT funded this project in their Adopted Work Program FY15/16.
  • The County and FDOT entered into and executed a LAP Agreement on 6/27/16 where, upon invoicing, FDOT agreed to reimburse the County under FM#436954-1-38-01 for the completion of this project up to a maximum of $300,000.
  • The County requested from FDOT additional funding for design in the amount of $29,250 due to unforeseen costs necessary to add the FL511 display information to the website.
  • The County desires to supplement the aforementioned LAP Agreement to amend the Design funds to a new total of $329,250.
  • The County is not responsible for any capital contribution towards this project.
