F.S. 125.045 County Economic Development PowersManatee County Economic Development Incentive Program
In November of 2013, the Hampton Inn & Suites, Bradenton Historic District, held a grand opening in Downtown Bradenton.
The former Manatee River Hotel, 309 10th St W. underwent a $21 million renovation in advance of the opening, revitalizing an 87 year old building.
The project was provided incentives by the Bradenton Downtown Development Authority (DDA) in excess of $2.5 million as the project was identified as a critical component of downtown redevelopment.
Manatee County Government also provided a customized Economic Development Incentive in the amount of $125,000 over three years and provided a 50 year lease for parking spaces in a lot owned by Manatee County.
The hotel has 119 rooms, meeting rooms, a heated saltwater pool, and colonnade event space that retains much of its historic charm while offering modern conveniences such as WiFi, flat screen HDTVs, and office space in rooms.
The hotel has enjoyed many successes since opening and has recently received several awards.
