Background Discussion
The City of Anna Maria was awarded $149,500 in WCIND funding for FY 15-16 for dredging the Lake LaVista inlet.  The City and WCIND have determined that the time frame for dredging has decreased to approximately 18 months and that there needs to be some formal study/discussion done in order to attempt to decrease the need for what is considered as maintenance dredging.

The Mayor of the City of Anna Maria has requested that the current WCIND grant to conduct a dredging project at Lake LaVista (M-316) be transferred to WCIND in order to conduct a study.

Staff from the County, WCIND, and the City have met to discuss this need and are in agreement.
