Charlie Hunsicker, Director, Natural Resources
Adoption of Resolution R-13-043 amending the FY 2013-2017 Capital Improvement Program to include multi use trails at Robinson Preserve, Phase 2.
Florida Statute 125
Manatee County purchased the Robinson Preserve Phase 2 on December 27, 2012.
The Board adopted Resolution R-12-198 on September 13, 2012, which approved the FY 2013-2017 Capital Improvement Program. Since the County did not own the Robinson Preserve Phase 2 property there were no Projects of Record listed in the official document.
The Natural Resources Department will be submitting a grant to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection under the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) for multi use trails in the total amount of $400,000 (RTP-$200,000/Manatee County $200,000). Under the Administrative Rule, applicants can receive 10 points for submitting projects that are included in their adopted CIP. Applicants, if they amend their current CIP to include the project, will receive 5 points.
The Recreational Trails Program is very competitive and staff recommends the Board amend the current CIP to garner as many points as possible.
