Myakka City Fire Control District Seat Appointments

Action Requested

Appoint residents to fill District Seat 2 and District Seat 4 on the Myakka City Fire Control District Board of Fire Commissioners; one resident for each District Seat as outlined in Ordinance 07-56.

Adopt Resolution R-13-120 appointing the Fire Commissioners for a term of four years each.

Background Discussion
  • On May 8, 2007, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance 07-56 relating to the Myakka City Fire Control District.
  • Ordinance 07-56 outlines the make-up of the Fire District Board.
  • Having advertised the vacancies of the two District Seats, the following applicants have applied:
    • Seat 2:  Richard J. Bartoszek
    • Seat 4:  Robert E. Hendrickson
  • The Board of County Commissioners is requested to appoint one individual to each seat.
  • Terms will expire on May 31, 2017.
