Authorize staff to schedule public hearings for the November 13, 2014, Planning Commission and December 4, 2014, Board of County Commissioners meetings to consider the Robinson Gateway Development of Regional Impact (DRI # 29).
380.03(11) Florida Statutes and Rule 9J-2.022, FAC
- On December 22, 2010, ZNS Engineering submitted an application for a Development of Regional Impact to allow 542 residential units (320 single-family attached and 222 multi-family units), 900,000 square feet of retail, and 600,000 square feet of office uses, 1,750 seat or 130,680 square foot movie theater, and 350 room or 219,800 square foot hotel(s) on 288± acres. The one-phase project is anticipated to be built-out in 2025. The property is generally located east of I-75, on the north side of Moccasin Wallow Road and west side of Carter Road, at 6730 and 7350 Moccasin Wallow Road, extending from the north side of Moccasin Wallow Road east to Carter Road.
- On July 11, 2014, the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council declared the Robinson Gateway DRI sufficient. Pursuant to Rule 9J-2.022, Florida Administrative Code, and Subsection 380.06 (11)(d) of the Florida Statutes, the local government is required to set the public hearing dates at its next scheduled meeting.
- The Applicant has agreed to extend the schedule for the adoption hearing beyond the statutory requirements (60 to 90 days from being declared Sufficient) to provide for time to work with staff on the Development Order prior to adoption.
- The hearings are to be scheduled for the November 13, 2014, Planning Commission and the December 4, 2014, Board of County Commission meetings.
