Background Discussion
  • The Lakewood Ranch Stewardship District is requesting map amendments from the Florida Legislature. The amendments are minor in nature, adding +/- 47 acres to the previously approved boundary.
  • Pursuant to Section 189.031(2)(e)4, Florida Statutes, an official statement of the governing body, in this case Manatee County, regarding consistency with the proposed amendment with the Comprehensive Plan is required and requested.
  • Staff has reviewed the proposed amendment to the boundary and finds it to be consistent with the Manatee County Comprehensive Plan.
  • Staff recommends the Chairman be authorized to  send the attached letter to the Legislative Delegation.
