Background Discussion

Change Order #1 provides for the replacement of six (6) 24" Butterfly Valves at the effluent pump station.

Since a part of the current project requires the pump station to be shutdown in order to replace the high service pumps with transfer pumps, the County Utilities staff has requested the replacement of the  existing six (6) 24" butterfly valves at the  pump station header since the valves do not work and do not hold.

The replacement of these butterfly valves will enable proper operation at the effluent pump station. The butterfly valves add an additional $53,417.13 to the Contract amount revising the current Contract amount from $6,816,000 to $6,869,417.13.  An additional seventy (70) calendar days are required for the completion of this project.  Project completion date has been extended from November 21, 2013, to January 31, 2014.

ACA #1 (Administrative Contract Adjustment) provided for an additional ninety (90) calendar days to the contract completion schedule due to unforeseen days.

May 8, 2012, the BCC executed an Agreement with Brandes Design-Build, Inc., Clearwater, FL, in the amount of $6,816,000.00 for the construction of a 2nd 10 million gallon tank and High Service Pump Station.
