Action Requested

Authorization for the County Administrator or his designee to execute Change Order No. 4 to Work Assignment No. 27 to Agreement 11-1569BG: Engineering Services for Utilities Engineer of Record with Carollo Engineers, Inc., in the amount of $63,951.00 for additional electrical design services. This Change Order increases the contract amount from $5,023,227.00 to $5,087,178.00.

Background Discussion

The original Work Assignment No. 27 was  approved by the Board of County Commissioners on May 6, 2014, for Lake Manatee Ultra Filtration Membrane Upgrade in the amount of $4,885,785.00.

Change Order No.1 was approved on July 30, 2015, to bring future funding current.

Change Order No. 2 was approved on July 25, 2017, in the amount of $137,442.00 for a revised total amount of $5,023,227.00 and extended the project by 672 days.

Change Order No. 3 added a task assignment classification "Project Engineer" at $119.00 per hour.

Change Order No. 4 is for additional design services to include tasks that are being modified related to the replacement of Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCC-B) and relocation of medium voltage (MV) feeders associated with the surface water treatment filter building at Lake Manatee Water Treatment Plant. No additional construction days will be required to accommodate this change.  The total for this redesign service is the fee of $63,951.00.  The total design services are 10.04 percent of the estimated construction cost of $50,000,000.00.
