Authorization to award IFB# 12-3098-DS, Southeast Water Reclamation Facility Lake Filtration System Replacement to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, Westra Construction Corp. of  Palmetto FL 34221 for a total base bid of $4,625,000.00 ( Option "A" 365 calendar days) and for the County Administrator or his designee to execute the Contract, and simultaneous acceptance and dating of the performance/payment bonds and the insurance certificate once the Contract is approved, ratified and confirmed by the Board of County Commissioners.

Background Discussion

The Work in this Agreement consists of the replacement of the current filters with gravity disk filters. Manatee County Southeast Water Reclamation Facility currently filters lake water prior to distribution into the reclaimed water system with a pressure type filter.

The Work shall be constructed in accordance with the Contract documents and the applicable state, county and local laws, rules ordinances, and permits.

November 28, 2012 - January 23, 2013, appropriate bid procedures were followed. Notice of Bid availability was broadcast via DemandStar, mymanatee.org and the Chamber of Commerce.
