  • Adopt Resolution R-17-145.

Enabling/Regulating Authority
Section 123.35, Florida Statutes, County Government authorized to sell real and personal property and to lease property.

Background Discussion
  • The property was acquired due to delinquent taxes per 1946 historical tax rolls.
  • A jurisdictional review of the property was completed and no objections were received.
  • The 2017 tax assessed value is $50,000.00.
  • On or after January 26, 2017, four (4) different citizens inquired about purchasing the vacant land at 3521 222nd Street East, Bradenton, Florida. In order to sell the property, it must first be declared surplus by the Board of County Commissioners.
  • Due to the parcel not being accessible by public transportation the property was deemed not acceptable for Affordable Housing.
  • Upon adopting R-17-145, said parcel will be designated as surplus, advertised, and sold to the highest bidder in accordance with the Surplus Lands Ordinance 14-26 and Florida Statutes 125.35.
