Florida Department of Environmental Protection Grant Amendment for Neal Preserve Trails

Contact and/or Presenter Information
Charlie Hunsicker, Director, Parks and Natural Resources

Action Requested
Authorization for the Chairman to execute Amendment No. 2 with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for the development of trails at Neal Preserve.

Enabling/Regulating Authority
Florida Administrative Code Chapter 62S-2

Background Discussion
Manatee County executed an agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection on April 10, 2012.  Part of the agreement consisted of a Grant Work Plan detailing project deliverables that also determined the timeline for any reimbursements. On May 21, 2013, the Board authorized the Chairman to execute Amendment No. 1 which reflected an altered timeline, with no increase in the total grant award.

As part of the official close-out package for the grant, an up-to-date timeline must be executed and attached to the original agreement.  This is Amendment No. 2.  There are no other changes to the agreement.

Staff recommends that the Chairman be authorized to execute Amendment No. 2 to the existing grant agreement.
