Action Requested
Adoption of Resolution R-14-051 confirming the authorization of the imposition and Payments-in-lieu-of-Taxes (PILT) upon certain property owned by the County's Utilities System, as previously approved and included in the current year's Adopted budget.

Enabling/Regulating Authority
R-89-178 and subsequent resolutions authorizing PILT from the Utilities System to the County General Fund.

Background Discussion
  • In 1989, the Board of County Commissioners initially authorized payments in lieu of taxes (PILT) from the Utilities System to the County General Fund to reduce property taxes countywide;
  • For the FY2013-2014, the amount of PILT to the General Fund will be $3,340,167, as previously provided for in the Adopted FY2013-2014 budget.
