Background Discussion
On January 18, 2018, the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA), a public agency based in Staples, MN, issued a contract to Caterpillar Inc. for Electrical Energy Power Generation with Related Parts, Supplies, and Services. The contract is valid from January 29, 2018 through January 29, 2022 with one (1) one-year renewal option.

The contract provides for a wide array of electrical energy power generation equipment including, but not limited to: stationary and portable electrical generators; backup or standby generator sets; mobile or trailer mounted generators; enclosures; automatic transfer switches; switch gears; used generator sets; rental generator set agreements; and, generator-related design, installation, maintenance, or repair services.

Per the terms and conditions of the contract, Caterpillar Inc. has a designated list of nationwide dealers who provide Caterpillar Inc. equipment and services to customers in certain geographical areas that are collectively known as "The Caterpillar Dealer Network." Ring Power Corporation is a local authorized Caterpillar Inc. Dealer for Manatee County and part of the identified Caterpillar Dealer Network.

Ring Power Corporation, on behalf of Caterpillar Inc., shall provide Caterpillar Inc. generators to the County at the following locations for the specified amount:

The cost for these generators is $1,797,750.00; however, the Property Management Department is requesting a total not-to-exceed amount of $2,000,000.00 to account for any unforeseen parts, supplies, or services that may be discovered during the installation of the generators. The cost for these generators will be submitted for reimbursement through the CARES Act.
