Action Requested
Adoption of Resolution R-20-144 authorizing the submission and acceptance of a State Aid to Libraries Grant and authorization for the Chairman to execute a Certification of Credentials, a Certification of Hours, Free Library Service and Access to Materials, and a State Aid to Libraries Grant Agreement with the Florida Department of State, Division of Library and Information Services, under the State Aid to Public Library Program for the period of October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021.

Background Discussion
The State Library provides annual operating grants to libraries under provision of Florida Statutes 257.14 - 257.25.
The amount of State Aid is based on the amount of local expenditures, less any state and federal funds from Fiscal Year 2018-2019. It is estimated the grant amount for Fiscal year 2020-2021 will be $122,360. The grant application is submitted simultaneously with the Grant Agreement.
These funds constitute approximately one quarter of the Library's annual materials budget.
The Library has received State Aid since 1971.
A Budget Resolution to amend the annual budget for Manatee County, FL, for the following fiscal year will be forthcoming after October 1, 2020.
