Background Discussion

Change Order No. 2 to Agreement No. 17-0101DC with Woodruff & Sons, Inc., authorizes an additional 205 calendar days to the construction schedule and reduces the contract amount by $6,218.88 for a revised not-to-exceed total of $7,150,665.87.

Procurement History

On December 12, 2017, the Board of County Commissioners awarded Agreement No. 17-0101DC to Woodruff & Sons, Inc., in the not-to-exceed total of $6,864,571.34, based on a construction schedule of 540 calendar days for Village of Parrish Force Main and Master Pump Station.

On November 19, 2019, the County approved Change Order No. 1 authorizing an additional amount of $292,313.41 and an additional 393 calendar days to the construction schedule to reconfigure the Master Pump Station into a Master Lift Station for the Village of Parrish Force Main and Master Pump Station for a revised not-to-exceed total of $7,156,884.75 and a new completion date of August 6, 2020.

The Parrish Master Pump Station was originally designed as an in-line booster pump station, not capable of providing gravity sewer service to the community. Reconfiguration allowed for future service to the community, while also accounting for a reduced flow required in the Wastewater Master Plan. Change Order No. 2 to Agreement No. 17-0101DC authorizes an additional 205 calendar days to the construction schedule to complete the Village of Parrish Force Main and Master Pump Station, for a new completion date of February 27, 2021.

Due to a change in the type of material (Ductile Iron to High Density Polyethylene) and a reduction in the number of fittings required for the discharge flange in the wet well, the total not-to-exceed amount was reduced by $6,218.88 for a revised total not-to-exceed amount of $7,150,665.87.
