Manatee County Land Development Code, Section 331, Vacation of Streets and Plats.

Background Discussion
  • The Applicant, Paul D. Jones, initially requested vacation of a 25' wide portion of unimproved right-of-way at 51st Street East in Bradenton, Florida 34208.
  • The application has been amended to reflect a 50' wide portion of unimproved right-of-way as dedicated by the plat of the Elwood Park subdivision, recorded in Plat Book 2, Page 76.
  • The applicant requests the vacation so that he can (1) expand his home in the future, (2) make the parent tract more useable and buildable, (3) protect the mangroves, and (4) for conservation.
  • Jurisdictional reviews to appropriate County Departments and private utilities serving the area have been notified and have no objections.
  • The application complies with pertinent Florida Statutes and the Manatee County Land Development Code.
  • All expenses associated with the subject vacation will be paid by the applicant.
  • Manatee County's application filing fee of $800.00 has been paid.
