Action Requested
Adoption of R-13-196, updating ambulance user fees for Manatee County EMS to be effective January 1, 2014.

Background Discussion

A worksession was held on October 1, 2013, to present to Commissioners our recommendations for updating ambulance user fees. 

Since FY 2008, Manatee County EMS activity has increased by 12%.  Despite improved collection efforts, EMS operation continues to rely upon the general fund ($3.8 million in FY12.)  The proposed fee update will further decrease dependence on the GF and bring Manatee County in alignment with fee structures in surrounding counties.

Ambulance fees were last adjusted in June 2008.
