Action Requested
  • Execution of Contract for Sale and Purchase with Fletcher Lawson Jr. and Mazie A. Lawson for the purpose of the Fort Hamer Extension U.S. 301 North to Erie Road Alignment in the amount of $9,500.00.

Enabling/Regulating Authority
Chapters 125 and 127, Florida Statutes.  Manatee Comprehensive Plan Goal 5.1 addresses the safety and efficiency of forecasted vehicular demands.

Background Discussion
  • The right-of-way is required for future improvements and alignment at Fort Hamer Road from Erie Road to U.S. 301 North.
  • The total parcel acquisition is vacant land consisting of approximately 15,749 square feet located at 11741 Erie Road.
  • A settlement was reached at $9,500.00 for the total acquisition and eliminates additional costs for litigation fees or expert fees with this agreement.
