Action Requested

Award IFB 17-1733-LV, Sunny Shores Mobile Home Park Resurfacing Project, to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder, Gator Grading & Paving, LLC, Palmetto, Florida for a total of $1,059,185.95 with 90 calendar days for completion.

Authorize the County Administrator, or his designee, to execute the Agreement and accept and date the Performance and Payment bonds.

Background Discussion

This project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to modify and install drainage pipe, adjust manholes, repair base, and mill and resurface 13,555 linear feet (LF) of road within the Sunny Shores Mobile Home Park in Bradenton, Florida, including, but not limited to, the cleaning of existing drainage systems.

Work will be in accordance with Division II and III of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, 2015 Edition and all Supplemental Specifications, for roadway construction, except as amended under this Contract, or as noted on the construction plans meeting the Manatee County Highway, Traffic & Storm Water Standards dated June 2015. 

As a result of a formal, competitive sealed bid procedure, a total of four (4) bidders submitted a sealed bid for consideration.  Please refer to the attached bid tabulation for the breakdown of the bids received.

The lowest bid was submitted by Ajax Paving Industries of Florida; however, this bid was incomplete and has been deemed non-responsive.

On September 15, 2017, an email was received from the Public Works Department recommending to award the project to Gator Grading & Paving, LLC., for a total bid amount of $1,059,185.95 with a 90 calendar day completion time.
