Adoption of Ordinance No. 19-44 amending and restating Chapter 2-26, Section 2-26-63 Contract Claims, and Section 2-26-64 Administrative Hearings.

Background Discussion
The Procurement Division and the County Attorney's office regularly examine the Procurement Code for improvements in efficiency, to enhance integrity, or to further legal compliance in procurement activities.

Results of the most recent review identified two revisions to the Procurement Code that are brought forward for approval.

A summary of the revisions recommended are as follows:

Amending and restating Chapter 2-26, Section 2-26-63 on Contract Claims and Section 2-26-64 on Administrative Hearings: providing the procedure and requirements for filing a contract claim, providing authority to the Procurement Official to resolve contract claims, providing an administrative hearing for review of the Procurement Official’s decision on a contract claim.
 
Providing for codification, providing severability and an effective date.
The proposed changes to Ordinance Chapter 2-26 were duly advertised as required by Statute.
