Action Requested
Authorize the County Administrator, or designee, to execute a three-year Agreement No. 19-R072398JE for Repair and Maintenance Services for 9-1-1 Vesta System with Motorola Solutions, Inc., in the annual not-to-exceed amount of $215,000.04 for a total not-to-exceed Agreement total of $645,000.12.

Background Discussion

This is a non-compete, single source Agreement with Motorola Solutions, Inc. for repair and maintenance services for 9-1-1 Vesta System.

The 9-1-1 public safety call-taking and dispatch system consists of three (3) major components. The first system component is the call-taking customer hardware and software equipment known as VESTA. The second component is the call delivery transport that routes 9-1-1 calls from the public to the County Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). The third system component is the radio dispatch system which allows dispatchers to communicate with first responders.

Motorola Solutions, Inc. manufactures the existing VESTA call handling system and software, as well as manufactures and maintains the call delivery transport and P25 radio dispatch system. As the original manufacturer of the equipment and software utilized by the County, Motorola Solutions, Inc. is the best-situated vendor to provide comprehensive monitoring, repair, and maintenance services for their suite of products.

The Agreement will be effective December 20, 2019 to ensure there is no lapse in coverage as the County transitions from its current vendor to Motorola Solutions, Inc.
