Jacob Saur, Acting Director of Public Safety, ext. 3585
Stacy Needham, Acting Chief of Emergency Communications, ext. 3514
Authorization for the Chairperson to sign the Public Safety Answering Point Emergency Communications Interlocal Agreement between the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and all primary first responder agencies within Manatee County.
House Bill 441 / Florida Statute 365.179
House Bill (HB) 441 was created to address communicating critical lifesaving information between 9-1-1 centers and first responders. During a mass casualty incident, 9-1-1 centers must have the ability to provide this information via radio directly to first responders within their county regardless of jurisdictional boundary.
The head of each dispatch center and first responder agency within the County is required to sign this interlocal agreement so the Sheriff can submit written certification of compliance to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement by January 1, 2020.
This interlocal agreement is required by the recent passing of HB 441 signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, effective July 1, 2019.
