Background Discussion
  • The applicants, Manatee McKay Properties, LLC, and McKay Point Properties, Inc., are requesting a vacation of Lot 7, Block 3, Lots 1-10 of the subdivision of Lot 8, Block 3, and Iva Street.
  • The applicants own all of Lot 7 and all of Lots 1-10 and desire to apply for certified lots upon the completion of the vacation process.
  • Jurisdictional reviews by appropriate county departments and private utility companies serving the area to be vacated have been notified of the intention to file a vacation. The City of Palmetto provides water and sewer to the area without objection.
  • Verizon had a conditional objection during the review process. However, Verizon has relocated the existing cables and confirmed they have no objection moving forward.
  • The Field Maintenance Division of Public Works had an objection during the review process. To satisfy their objection, two permanent drainage and maintenance access easement agreements (one from each applicant) will be given to Manatee County.
  • The vacation application complies with the technical requirements of the Manatee County Land Development Code and pertinent Florida Statutes.
  • All expenses associated with the subject vacation will be paid by the applicants.
  • Manatee County's application filing fee of $800 has been paid.
