Petty Cash and Change Fund Policy Update

Adoption of a revised Petty Cash Policy increasing the maximum dollar limit from $50 to $100 per transaction.
County policies are established by the approval of the County Commission.
The County Commission's current petty cash policy was last updated in 1996 and set a limit of $50 on reimbursement of small purchases of supplies, emergency gas purchases, and travel expenses such as parking and tolls.
Since that time the price of materials and gasoline has increased considerably. When the cost of the item exceeds $50 and the vendor does not accept a County purchasing card, it causes a delay in obtaining the materials needed. Increasing the limit to $100 would make such small purchases easier and facilitate County business.
The revised policy has the approval of the Clerk of the Court and the Finance Director. The County Administrator and the Clerk will develop administrative procedures to implement the Board's updated policy.
