Background Discussion

The Manatee County Public Library System has been awarded a $1,000 programming grant for "Thinking Money," a museum-quality traveling exhibition that will be showcased from December 12, 2017 - January 23, 2018.

The proceeds of the grant will be used to complement the exhibit, including a cooking demonstration to prepare inexpensive yet nutritious meals, presentations centered on preventing identity theft and fraud, and informational sessions on banking and financial goal-setting for tweens and teens.  The culminating event is Big Bank Theory, presented by Manatee Chamber of Commerce.  Big Bank Theory is a hands-on simulation to teach financial literacy education.
