Manatee County, Florida, Code of Ordinances Section 2-28-2.
On November 5, 2015, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) heard Mandarin Development, Inc.’s request to vacate (R-15-127) an improved portion of San Miguel Cove at Riva Trace Subdivision. During this public hearing, Mandarin Development withdrew their request to vacate and the BCC requested that County staff review Manatee County, Florida, Code of Ordinances Section 2-28-2 to determine if modifications were needed.
In compliance with this Ordinance, the Public Safety Department, in coordination with Building and Development Services and the County's many emergency response agencies, initiated a review of this Ordinance.
Following that review, it is the opinion of the Department of Public Safety and the emergency response agencies consulted during the review that the Ordinance and requirements currently stipulated are adequate and meet existing needs for timely public safety response.
Moving forward, the Department of Public Safety, Building and Development Services, and the county’s emergency response agencies will continue to monitor industry standards and advances in technology in this area and will make recommendations for updates to the Ordinance as applicable.
