Background Discussion
  • The posted speed limit on Rye Road is 55 miles per hour (mph).
  • At the May 12, 2015, Board of County Commissioners' (BCC) work session, staff discussed the process for setting speed limits throughout the County.  During the discussion, Commissioners voiced their concern with the existing speed limit on Rye Road.  Staff committed to look at present Rye Road functional improvement design.  The Rye Road design has progressed to 90 percent plans.  In conjunction with the Rye Road engineering design, along with numerous existing and upcoming residential communities along Rye Road, staff proposes to reduce the speed limit from 55 mph to 45 mph.
