Manatee County Land Development Code, Section 911, Public Hearing requirements for Vacation of Streets, Roads, and other Appropriate Property. 

Background Discussion
  • The Applicant, Blue Heaven Enterprises, LLC, is requesting vacation of a 23,750 square foot portion of unimproved platted right-of-way for development of a hydroponic garden and a produce store. This is one of two applications being submitted simultaneously by the applicant.
  • A pre-application meeting was held on February 7, 2014, with the Building and Development Services Department for a proposal to develop and convert the vacant land.
  • The unimproved platted right-of-way known as Louisiana Avenue runs north and south and is bordered by Block 11 to the west and Block 10 to the east as shown on the plat of North Sarasota, recorded in Plat Book 2, Page 151, of the Public Records of Manatee County, Florida.
  • Jurisdictional Reviews were distributed to appropriate county departments and private utilities serving the area with conditional responses noted. All conditional responses have been addressed with no further objections. 
  • The vacation complies with the pertinent Florida Statutes and Manatee County land development code.  
  • Manatee County's application filing fee of $800.00 has been paid.
  • All expenses associated with the application will be paid by the applicant.
