Background Discussion

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) 5310 Grant Application, if awarded, will provide operating assistance funding to support eligilble services to meet the special needs of the elderly and individuals with disabilities which are not currently funded through the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (FCTD).

The 50% local share required to meet grant criteria will need to be allocated to the FY14 Transit - Paratransit operating budget to support the Manatee County share of costs.

The 5310 grants are used to capital and/or support operational expenses of paratransit service.
