ADOPT Resolution R-15-003.

Enabling/Regulating Authority
Land Development Code Chapter 9, Section 911.3, Public Hearing Requirements for Vacation of Streets, Roads, and Other Appropriate Property. Section 336.09 and 336.10, et seq., Closing and Abandonment of Roads.

Background Discussion
  • The applicant, Manatee Ranches, Inc., is requesting vacation of 0.39 acres of unimproved road right-of-way.
  • The Applicant's property includes Lots 22 through 29 and Lots 66 through 70 of Block 26 of the Pomello City Central Unit Subdivision Plat and is located at the intersection of State Road 70 and County Road 675, which within the right-of-way limits of the Florida Department of Transportation.
  • The Applicant's property is encumbered by 0.39 acres of unimproved platted road rights-of-way, which includes a portion of 12th Avenue.
  • The Applicant has requested a vacation of the road rights-of-way in order to increase the buildable area and eventually develop the property.
  • Jurisdictional  review by appropriate county departments and private utility companies serving the location to be vacated have been notified of the intention to file a vacation and have no objection.
  • The vacation application complies with the technical requirements of the Manatee County Land Development Code and pertinent Florida Statutes.
  • All expenses associated with the subject vacation will be paid by the Applicant. 
  • Manatee County's application filing fee of $800 has been paid.
