Motion to authorize publication of a Notice of Public Hearing on proposed Ordinance No. 14-15 relating to an amendment to Chapter 2-26 of the Manatee County Code regarding contract claims and administrative hearings.
Section 125.01, Florida Statutes and Ch. 2-26 of the Manatee County Code.
Sections 2-26-63 and 2-26-64 of the Manatee County Code set forth the procedures for contract claims to be resolved by staff and for those claims requiring an administrative hearing before an independent hearing officer. The County Attorney's Office believes that these sections need to be revised and has prepared a revised Ordinance 14-15 for future consideration by the Board. The revisions are to the contract claims sections 2-26-63 and 2-26-64, which involve the legal rights and remedies should a contract claim dispute arise and require an administrative hearing. A complete review of the ordinance will be made when it comes before the Board for a public hearing.
