P25 Public Safety Communications Project Status Update

Section 163.1 of the Florida Statutes
In June 2015, the Board of County Commissioners for both Manatee and Sarasota Counties approved a contract with Airbus DS Communications for the implementation of a new Regional P25 Public Safety Radio System. The new system will be used by Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, Emergency Management Services, Utilities, School Districts, and other governmental entities. The P25 Project will improve public safety for citizens of both Counties and first responders, while leveraging the benefits of Regional Partnership and Industry Standards and Best Practices.
At the work session, Wilfredo Miranda (Manatee Radio Division Manager) will present a project status report including Scope, Schedule, and Cost information. The report will also discuss key project benefits and desired outcomes, and tower locations derived from the completion of the Detailed Design Milestone.
