Engineers Week - February 18-24, 2018

Adopt Proclamation designating February 18-24, 2018, as "Engineers Week" in Manatee County, Florida.
The Board of County Commissioners has the authority to adopt proclamations.
February 18-24, 2018, is designated as National Engineers Week.
This week is celebrated with the local engineering community hosting numerous public events.
On February 2, 2018, at St. Stephens School, the Annual MATHCOUNTS Event was hosted by the Myakka Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society. This annual event celebrates the importance of math in the local Engineering Community. The goal of this event is to engage local middle school students in math problem solving. This program and the volunteer local engineers encourage young minds to develop a love of mathematics.
To this goal, several of the engineers currently working for Manatee County volunteered their time and energy at this year's MATHCOUNTS Event, therefore, actively supporting and leading as role models for this year's theme for the 2018 Engineering Week - "Engineers: Inspiring Wonder."
