Acceptance of Purchase Order B01209 from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in the amount of $14,971.50 for improving gopher tortoise habitat at Rye Preserve; and adoption of Budget Resolution B-17-021 amending the annual budget of Manatee County, FL, for FY 2016.
The Manatee County Parks and Natural Resources Department responded in July 2016 to a request for proposal, which was sent to eligible entities, for the Gopher Tortoise Habitat Management Assistance Program administered by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC).
The Department has been selected for the third consecutive year to receive funds for the management (improvement) of gopher tortoise habitat at Rye Preserve.
Purchase Order B01209 has been issued by the FFWCC in the amount of $14,971.50. The funds will be used to enhance gopher tortoise habitat on approximately 55.45 acres at Rye Preserve.
The Purchase Order is effective through June 30, 2017. No matching funds are required.
Adoption of Budget Resolution B-17-021 is being requested.
