Background Discussion

Library Board of Trustees member, Brenda Booth, resigned her position on May 18, 2017, because she relocated outside of Manatee County.  Mrs. Booth represented the City of Palmetto.  Her term was to expire on January 31, 2020.

In a letter dated July 18, 2017, the City of Palmetto advised Manatee County that they ratified the appointment of Mrs. Patsy Ugarte as their representative to the Library Board of Trustees for the remainder of the current term, expiring January 31, 2020.

Patsy Ugarte has a respected and successful architectural and engineering firm in Palmetto.  Additionally, she has served previously on several boards including the Environmental Land Management Advisory Committee, Friends of Extension, and Master Gardener Advisory Board.

All Library Board of Trustees serve a 4-year term.
