Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority - Master Plan Update

The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority (TBARTA) was established in 2007 to improve mobility for passengers and freight throughout the seven-county region of Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota Counties. TBARTA's Regional Transportation Plan, first adopted in 2009, must be updated every two years in accordance with legislative requirements.
The 2013 Master Plan update focuses on refining the transit, freight, and roadway networks established in 2009 and 2011, and including progress towards implementing TBARTA's regional vision. TBARTA collaborated with stakeholders and planning partners across the region and ensured consistency with planning efforts. TBARTA also maintained and built upon the public dialogue of transportation topics and the region's future.
The TBARTA Board unanimously adopted the 2013 Master Plan Update on June 14, 2013. TBARTA is currently taking the updated Master Plan on tour to the county governing boards, West Central Florida Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) Chairs Coordinating Committee (CCC), MPOs and Bay Area Legislative Delegation.
