Action Requested
  • Execution of Contract for Sale and Purchase with Tom Monts for the purpose of the Fort Hamer Extension, U.S. 301 North to Erie Road Alignment, in the amount of $45,000.00.


Enabling/Regulating Authority
  • Chapters 125 and 127, Florida Statutes. 
    Manatee Comprehensive Plan Goal 5.1 addresses the safety and efficiency of forecasted vehicular demands.


Background Discussion
  • The right-of way is required for future improvements and alignment at Fort Hamer Road from Erie Road to U.S. 301 North.
  • The acquisition is for the entire parcel consisting of approximately 1.02 acres of vacant land located at 11735 Erie Road.
  • Property Acquisition performed an in-house value analysis for the parcel formulating a land value of $40,000.00 on October 31, 2017.
  • A settlement was reached in the amount of $45,000.00 for the total acquisition eliminating additional costs for litigation fees, attorney fees, or expert fees.
