Fireworks MANATEE COUNTY, FL (June 27, 2024) – Manatee County Government offices will be closed Thursday, July 4, 2024, to commemorate Independence Day.

Manatee County Libraries will be closed on Thursday. All trash, recycling and yard waste collections will be postponed one day after July 4. Thursday’s collection will be collected on Friday, July 5. Friday’s collection will be collected on Saturday, July 6. The Lena Road Landfill will be closed on Thursday, July 4.

There will be no Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT) fixed route or Handy Bus service July 4. The Anna Maria Island Trolley will operate normal daily routes and the Manatee Avenue Beach Express will operate on a holiday schedule.

Manatee County parks and beaches will be open to the public. Manatee County and Buffalo Creek Golf Courses will be open. G.T. Bray Recreation Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Walton Racquet Center will be closed, and all check-ins will occur at the main building. Manatee County’s natural preserves will remain open.

Local Celebrations include Palmetto’s 13th Annual Fourth Fest, featuring live music in Riverside Park (801 Riverside Drive). Performing this year are One Night Rodeo (Country) Scarlet Drive (Pop, Rock and Dance) and Beatdown Band (R&B), starting at 5 p.m.

Bradenton Alive’s Independence Day Celebration kicks off at 3 p.m. with live music, food vendors, merchants and a Jeep meet along the Bradenton Riverwalk. Live music performances by Emmit Stevens, Jr., (country) and 22N (rock and pop) will be staged at the Bradenton Riverwalk Pavilion.

The Manatee River fireworks show will be visible on both sides of the Manatee River. Zambelli Fireworks will light up the night sky, beginning around 9 p.m., with pyrotechnics show lasting approximately 25 minutes launching from the Green Bridge Fishing Pier.
