Dr. Scott Hopes and Deputy County Administrator Courtney De PolMANATEE COUNTY, FL (October 19, 2022) – Deputy County Administrator Courtney De Pol has been recognized as a regional business leader, being named one of the 40 Under 40 by the Business Observer.

Each year, the publication selects 40 individuals under 40 years old from the Gulf Coast business community. Carefully selected from nominations and original reporting, these individuals represent the best and brightest in a geographic area, stretching from Tampa to Naples.

Observer editors say they were looking for candidates who are entrepreneurial.

“We wanted our list to stand apart as a group of young professionals who aren’t afraid to take charge and take risks in their business,” said Business Observer Executive Editor Kat Hughes.

Nominees also were asked to talk about a person who has been a mentor in their career. In this case, De Pol was quick to mention her boss, Manatee County Administrator Scott Hopes.

“He hired me to bring a fresh outside perspective to the county,” she said. “I’m very grateful for Dr. Hopes entrusting me in leading both the Development and Utilities Departments, as well as providing his mentorship, which continues to guide me in providing an exceptional level of service to the citizens of Manatee County.”
