60th Avenue East and Factory Shops BoulevardManatee County Public Works is hosting a Public Information Meeting for upcoming roadway improvement projects on 60th Avenue East. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Parrish Community High School Auditorium, 7505 Fort Hamer Road, Parrish, FL, 34219.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to learn more about the proposed improvements to 60th Avenue East, which include three (3) segments:

60th Avenue East from U.S. 301 to Factory Shops Boulevard: This project consists of widening the roadway from U.S. 301 to Factory Shops Boulevard to six lanes and widening the roadway from Factory Shops Boulevard to 26th Street East to four lanes. Improvements will include sidewalks and bike lanes on both sides of the roadway and a grass median from Factory Shops Boulevard to 26th Street East. The project also includes construction of a new signalized intersection at Factory Shops Boulevard.

60th Avenue East - Buffalo Road Extension: This project consists of extending 60th Avenue East (Buffalo Road) north from Mendoza Road to Badini Way. The new roadway construction will include one travel lane in each direction with a grass median to accommodate future roadway widening, bike lanes in each direction, sidewalk on the east side of the roadway and a shared-use path, west side of the roadway. The project also calls for the construction of a new signalized intersection at Mendoza Road. Proposed improvements will include connections to the Covered Bridge subdivision.

60th Avenue East at 69th Street East: This project consists of intersection improvements at 60th Avenue East (Buffalo Road) and 69th Street East. Improvements include a new signalized intersection and widening for an additional northbound travel lane and northbound right-turn lane.

Guests are invited to view design boards and plans. Project staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide other project-related information. There will be no formal presentation, and guests may arrive any time between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
