Veterans Services to offer annual benefit information sessions in April at Manatee Libraries
Posted on 03/18/2019

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (March 18, 2019) —Manatee County Veterans Services is offering free annual benefit seminars through one convenient session, which will repeat on four different dates and library locations in April.

Topics will include VA Disability Compensation, VA Low-Income & Long-Term Pensions (including the new 2018 VA Qualification Guidelines), VA Burial Benefits, Local VA Healthcare and a Q&A session. Discussions are open to Veterans and their families, as well as surviving family members. Light refreshments will be provided.

In past years, Veterans Services structured the information into a series, focusing on one topic at a time, at only one location in Downtown Bradenton. Understanding that some Veterans and their families might not be able to travel easily to multiple sessions and live far from downtown, County Veterans Services Officer, Lee Washington, and his team decided to combine all of the topics and give the presentation at four locations spread throughout Manatee County.

“We hope that offering the same session at multiple easy-to-access locations will help us reach a wider range of the approximately 40,000 Veterans who are reported to live in Manatee County,” said Washington.
