Manatee County announces Veteran's Day-related closures

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Nov. 5, 2019) – Manatee County Government offices will be closed Monday, Nov. 11 to commemorate Veteran's Day.

Downtown Central Library, the only public library open on Mondays, will be closed for Veteran's Day and will reopen Tuesday, Nov. 12.

Manatee County parks and beaches will be open to the public. Manatee County and Buffalo Creek Golf Courses will be open. G.T. Bray Recreation Center will be closed.

Manatee County’s publicly owned natural preserves will remain open.

Trash, recycling and yard waste collections for the week are not impacted by Veteran's Day and will follow the normal collection schedule.

Manatee County Area Transit, the Anna Maria Island Trolley and the Longboat Key Shuttle and regular weekday Handy Bus will operate as normal on Monday. Customer service booths at the downtown Bradenton and Desoto Transit stations will be closed. 

The Manatee County Veterans Council and the City of Palmetto will host the annual Veterans Day Parade, which will begin at Manatee County Fairgrounds, proceed south on 11th Ave and end at Sutton Park. The parade will be followed by the annual Veteran's Day Memorial Service.
