MANATEE COUNTY, FL (March 8, 2018) – North Coquina boat ramp is open today following a nine-month renovation that improved boater access, parking and landscaping.

The renovated boat ramp, located at
Gulf Drive South on Bradenton Beach, has significantly expanded boating access and trailer parking. It now has a second boat launch lane and improved the slope of the launch. There are also now three new fixed docks and a paved parking lot for:
  • Two new ADA parking spaces
  • 12 regular vehicle spaces
  • 28 boat/trailer spaces
Finishing touches at the launch include improved landscaping, new post and rope fencing, two fish cleaning stations with running water and turtle-friendly lighting. There's a new seawall and two new stormwater ponds. A new 250-foot sidewalk connects a bus stop at Gulf Drive to the south side boat dock and  launch lane.

The renovation lasted nine months but the boat ramp has been closed since early 2015 due to safety concerns before the renovation project.
