Manatee County Procurement awarded Achievement of Excellence

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (July 25, 2018) – Manatee County Procurement has been awarded the 23rd Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award (AEP) for 2018 from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI).

The award is earned by public and non-profit organizations that obtain a high application score based on standardized criteria. The AEP is awarded annually to recognize innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership in procurement.

"Earning the prestigious NPI Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award is recognition of the accomplishment of the Manatee County Procurement Division in its continuous improvement efforts towards efficiencies, transparency, quality and use of technology," said Procurement Official Theresa Webb. "The award application process allows us to annually benchmark our achievements against rigorous evaluation criteria."

Financial Management Director Jan Brewer added, "Procurement continues to strive every day to provide the best service possible for Manatee County. That outstanding effort shows in the pride of our entire department and by this award in excellence."

The AEP program encourages the development of excellence as well as continued organizational improvement to earn the award annually.

For 2018, there were 200 successful applicants, including 45 counties, 71 cities, 27 higher education agencies, 24 school districts, 26 special districts, and 7 state agencies.
