Shelter Volunteer Training Class


The purpose of this course is to prepare participants to assist in the selecting, opening, organizing, operating and closing of a shelter.


The Shelter Volunteer Training class is a basic level, instructor led course that is designed to prepare participants to use the Shelter Field Guide to manage and operate shelters using fundamental sheltering principles and best practices. The course is 8 hours in length.


Classroom participants must attend the entire course and complete the classroom activities to earn a course certificate.


The class is free. To register for either the June 12 or June 14 class, please email
